ABSTRACT:
The treatment of adult complex cases requires biological knowledge, a comprehensive diagnostic approach, prioritization of the technological opportunities and analytical skills.
The optimal resolution of this kind of cases presenting periodontal, restorative, aesthetic and occlusal problems may be achieved only with the contribution of all dental specialties. Especially the orthodontic treatment should be carried out with the aim of enhancing the restorative and prosthodontic final results.
The aim of this lecture is twofold:
-discussing the diagnostic concept, the interactions among the dental specialists involved, and the clinical strategies that should be the common platform of knowledge shared by an up-to-date dental team;
-presenting guidelines on how to reach a good finishing as well as clinical protocols and strategies to be implemented during the final stage of treatment.
